Situational Leadership Programme 2006 (Experiential Learning)
The
Situational Leadership Programme has been successfully held on the
10th to 12th March 2006 at Equatorial Hotel, Cameron Highland. All
Assistant Managers and above have attended this 3 days 2 nights
programme. The programme was conducted by HRA Consulting Services
headed by Dr. R. Rajasegeran (Raj).
The
main objectives of the programme are as follows;
1. To acquire leadership qualities through a demonstrative
behaviour that unites and stimulates followers toward defined
goals in specific situations.
2. To enable application of simple behaviour techniques to
help the Company into a basis for increased profitability.
3. To provide each participant with knowledge and skills about
situational leadership, so each can achieve greater results
in less time, improve productivity, increase profits and provide
for their prosperity.
The programme was also designed to impart essential leadership
and team building knowledge to participants to enable them
to:
- Understand
the concepts of situational leadership
- Understand
the four leadership styles and its application in their subordinates
development levels
- Understand
the skills of diagnosing a situation before reacting
- Contracting
with their employees for improved performance
- Know
their employees strength by giving them the authority to
carry out the assignments
- Identify
and encourage individual talent and match them to equal challenges
- Develop
their employees according to their ability and identify outstanding
ones
- Build
a well trained workforce and improve staff retention
- Have
greater collaboration among team members and reduction of conflicts
which is costly to the individual group and the organization itself
- Have
better understanding of the teams character and its role
in the total functioning of the organization
At
the close of the training programme, all participants were required
to break a piece of wood as a symbolic of individual willpower.
Majority of the participants was able to do so including the female
participants! It was a good training programme as mentioned by all
participants and we are ready to go for the next level of the leadership
programme.
